Evil Dead
This is one hell of a ride. Evil Dead shows us the glory days of horror movies back in the day. A re-imagining from Sam's Raimi's 1981 cult classic. Even to this day people still talk about the original. People will be talking about this version as well. Fede Alvarez directs a beautiful and sometimes chilling classic horror story. The story is still cliched sometimes but that's the beauty of old school horror films. The acting is mediocre at best. Only two of the five kids I found enjoyable to watch and actually didn't do a bad job. The cinematography was gorgeous to look at and the color palette was amazing. This is one of my favorite horror movies visually. This is where the good stuff is at. The editing and special effects. The editing was top-notch and the sound editing was excellent adding those small sounds that make a certain movement in a body part or a twitch that more nerve racking. The effects were all practical and very little CGI which made the atmosphere of the movie more realistic and lets face it practical effects are a lot better. If you are a horror fan go see it. If you are a gore fan go see it. If you liked the original go see it. If you are in one of those categories I would highly suggest to go see it. This is a blood soaked good time. 9.5/10
